With over 22 years of sales and marketing experience, I came to the conclusion that the role of advertising is an important part of economic success in our community. I like to use the analogy that we don't really "sell" ideas, rather, our clients "buy" them. We solve business problems for clients so they are successful in the economic fabric or our community by providing products, services and most importantly good paying jobs for our families, neighbors and friends.
A few things about me:
I was born in Milwaukee and raised in Grafton (a suburb). I graduated with a Journalism Bachelor of Science (JBS) degree, as an Evans Scholar from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I previously worked for various media companies including Madison Newspapers, Inc. (currently Capital Newspapers, Inc.). I had both sales and management positions with MNI and was recognized in 1994 with the Corporate, Lee President's Award for sales and marketing success. In the Fall of 2000 my journey took me to Madison Magazine as Advertising Director and have enjoyed watching our magazine grow to un-precedented success in journalism, graphic design, readership and profitability.
I enjoy many things like gardening, sports, cars, cooking, fish keeping and rasing our Siberian Huskies with my wife of 22 years, Phyllis. We live in a home off the Ice Age Trail on the Southwest Side of Madison.
I currently serve on the board of trustees for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County and was recently matched with a "little brother" Marquis. I also serve on the Edgewood College, Business School Advisory Board and the Madison Originals Board (a local independant restaurant trade group). I served on the Daily Cardinal Board for two-and-one-half years and also graduated from Leadership Greater Madison with class 12 and found this to be a very profound experience in my life. |

With many years of media sales experience, I truly enjoy helping small and large companies reach their marketing goals. As a Wisconsin native with an extensive family history in Cedarburg…I can say that I understand the strengths and challenges of marketing to the Midwestern mentality.
A UW- Madison alumnus, I remain a true Badger fan. My interest in the construction/building industry has also led to a long term involvement with the Madison Area Builders Association. A lover of magazines, I pour over architectural (especially arts and crafts inspired) publications, that feature renovating/decorating/landscaping.
Away from the office, my husband, son and two Shih-tzus enjoy the outdoors and making the most of life. We have a passion for our ever expanding perennial gardens, Arts & Crafts pottery, art and Stickley furniture. |

I'm an Account Manager for Madison Magazine. Previously, I was employed in similar positions at newspapers in Madison, Florida, Missouri and Illinois. You could say I enjoy this kind of work.
I serve on advisory boards and committees for Downtown Madison Inc. (DMI) and Dane County Buy Local (DCBL), along with being a downtown volunteer ambassador. Commitment to these causes is reflected in my work and many of my clients. I've also volunteered with arts groups, United Way, and many of their agencies over the years.
I'm a 1994 graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Journalism major (Advertising Specialization) and English minor. My nickname in college was "grammar girl" but I fear email and haste have eroded my previous conviction.
I live four blocks off Madison's Capitol Square with my new husband Dennis and our pets Maggie and Moxie. In my free time I enjoy reading, knitting, the outdoors, and spending time with my wonderful and wacky family and friends. I just completed my first marathon and I plan to live to be 100. |

I have served as an account manager at Madison Magazine since 2001, having held similar positions previously at Madison Newspapers and Ridge Associates. A proud product of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan I have enjoyed living in Madison since moving here from New York City in 1988 with my husband David, a professor of history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. David and I share our home with our Border Terrier Geordie mere steps from Trader Joe’s, the Monroe Street Shopping district and Camp Randall Stadium. For pleasure I enjoy walking, golfing, and cooking for my friends and family. |

I am the advertising coordinator for Madison Magazine, which is where I’ve enjoyed my days for the last ten years now. My past employment gave me the opportunity to work directly with the public; of which I take great pleasure, in doing this type of work.
Returning from Phoenix; my husband & I moved to Deerfield to enjoy the small town living, which we both grew up on. I am a founding member and President of our volunteer organization, Firefighters And Community Together (F.A.C.T.). We team up with our volunteer fire department and assist with fundraisers and drives that help benefit our village and school system. We also provide our firefighters with rehab, when they are out at a scene for an extended period of time.

My position as Account Manager with Madison Magazine and the Madison Food & Wine Show I have one of the best jobs in the city. Because I specialize in Food, Beverage and Dining I spend my days in the areas’ best Bars, Restaurants and specialty food and beverage stores, who wouldn’t love it! Through my work I meet the most wonderful people who produce great food and provide us terrific places to enjoy it. My clients are passionate about what they do, they may not be rich, but they certainly enrich our lives and I’m delighted to spend time with each and every one of them.

I have been an Account Manager with Madison Magazine for over 5 years. I love the challenge of helping my clients’ brand and build their businesses. Prior to the magazine, I worked at Capital Newspapers in the Classified Division both as Classified Sales Manager and as Major Account Representative specializing in Automotive. I also worked at Carl Ames Communications as a Media Director. I am an active member in the American Advertising Federation of Madison.
I graduated from UW Madison with a BA degree in Advertising and Psychology. Both I have found particularly useful for this type of work! Anyone in the business would probably agree.
Most of my free time revolves around my kid's activities, however I enjoy exercising, cooking, and people. And I love to travel! Someone once said it is “sunny and 78 in my world” and I would agree. It is a great place to be! |
